KNYSNA
Take a scenic drive to nearby Knysna with its breathtaking
view of the Heads and estuary. Taste fresh oysters
or browse amongst quaint and interesting shops for
arts, crafts, furniture and clothing. Enjoy the
many top restaurants and coffee shops or take a
boat trip on the lagoon. While in the area, look
out for the famous elephants of the Tsitsikamma
forest, visit Noetzie's fairytale castle, the little
stone church at Belvidere and many other historical
landmarks.
GEORGE & WILDERNESS
George, the biggest town on the Garden Route,
boasts the smallest cathedral south of the equator.
For a nostalgic touch, take a trip on the world
famous Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train. It will
take you on a magical journey through some of
the most beautiful scenery in the country, past
the tranquil lakes of Wilderness and Sedgefield,
along endless beaches and through the woodlands
to Knysna. The famous Outeniqua Pass will carry
you to Oudtshoorn and its famous Cango Caves and
Ostrich Farms.
SEDGEFIELD
The perfect family destination offers outdoor activities such as horse-riding, bird-watching, paragliding, board-sailing, deep-sea fishing, forest trails, mountain bike routes, snorkeling and four-wheel adventure drives. Talented artistsí works include woodworking, pottery, fabric painting and sculpturing. Crafters gather every Saturday at the Scarab morning market while the Wild Oats market provides fresh produce and delicacies.
